Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to provide operational support to the Lead Accreditation and Oversight Division (LAOD). The incumbent in this position will be responsible for maintaining and managing the Division’s various databases, including troubleshooting for the various data systems, and communicating/ coordinating operational issues resolutions with the Department of Information Technology (DoIT) and/or other IT personnel.
The incumbent is responsible for developing and coordinating productivity metrics and tracking sheets to report trends, adjustments, and production goals for LAOD. The incumbent will also be responsible for managing and performing quality assurance for the data entry and scanning of lead inspection certificates contracted through Maryland Correctional Enterprise (MCE), as well as, tracking lead inspection certificate referrals, correction forms, and inspection notifications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Four years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Additional experience in administrative staff or professional work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
It is required the selected candidate has the following:
- 1 year of experience creating, managing and troubleshooting standard and/or specialized database applications.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
It is preferred the selected candidate has the following:
- 1 year of team leadership experience and/or special project management involving data collection, management and analysis;
- Experience in identifying and resolving regulatory, enforcement or compliance issues;
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team building skills;
- Strong computer skills with a proficiency in the use of various computer software applications such as Windows, and Google applications;
- Strong written and oral communication skills;
- Strong analytical, problem solving and process improvement skills;
- Strong skills in managing multiple priorities with experience in delegation of duties;
- Experience in procurement and/or contract management.
