Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to design, implement, evaluate, and manage rehabilitation services for patients at Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center (Maryland’s only forensic psychiatric hospital). This role is carried out in collaboration with both clinical and non-clinical departments to support the hospital’s mission of providing quality assessment of recovery based trauma informed care, timely pre-trial evaluations, and maximum security custody to ensure public safety.  Program design requires components that include but are not limited to safety, flexibility, cultural competence, and evidence-based practice.   

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must possess a current Maryland license as an occupational or physical therapist from the applicable Maryland Board, a Master's Degree or higher in Physical or Occupational field and 1 year of supervisory experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. An employee in this classification must possess a current license as a Physical Therapist from the Maryland State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners in accordance with Physical Therapy Article, Section 13-301 or as an Occupational Therapist from the Maryland State Board of Occupational Therapy Practice in accordance with Occupational Therapy Article, Section 10-301.

SELECTION PROCESS

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A resume must accompany your application.
