LOCATION OF POSITION

7800 Harkins Road, Lanham, MD 20706

The Department of Housing and Community Development's Headquarters Office is located in Prince George's County across from the New Carrollton Metro stop.

POSITION DUTIES

Oversees and directs a full-service integrated, marketing team that provides promotion and marketing of Maryland's housing strategy, as well as major programs and projects. Manages a team of marketing professionals specializing in traditional, new media, collateral development and creative services. The Director oversees a comprehensive marketing program designed to communicate Maryland's housing and community development programs, products, initiatives and services. Develops marketing and communications programs to ensure that the state's housing and community development assistance programs, products and services are effectively marketed and meet the maximum number of potential customers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field.

Experience: Five years administrative or professional experience in the marketing or communications field, two years of which must include supervisory experience.

Notes:

  1. Additional relevant education may be substituted for up to two years of the required administrative/professional experience.
  2. Additional relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in the housing or real estate industry.

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning.

EXAMINATION PROCESS

The examination will consist of a rating of your education, training, and experience related to the requirements of the position. You will be required to complete a qualifications supplement, and the rating is based on your application.
