This recruitment is for a full-time CONTRACTUAL position at the Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum in Saint Leonard, MD.
With over 560 scenic acres along the Patuxent River in Calvert County, Maryland, more than 65 identified archaeological sites, and 9,000 years of documented human occupation, Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum (JPPM) is a place full of secrets waiting to be unearthed. Main Purpose of Job
This position is located at Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum (JPPM) and is responsible for operating the JPPM Visitor Center, running the JPPM gift shop, and coordinating the JPPM facility rental program.
This is a full-time position working Wednesday to Sunday during the months of April through October and Monday to Friday the other months.
POSITION DUTIES
Schedules and coordinates JPPM Pavilion and waterfront rentals, serves as the main point of contact for callers/visitors seeking information about park activities. This may be in person, by phone and through email.
Manages all aspects of the Show Barn Museum Shop and Annex Shop during JPPM events. This will include purchasing, accounting, guest services, pricing and returns.
Processes reservations and registrations for events, tours, workshops, camps and various other JPPM programs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Diploma
Experience:
Six Months experience in retail and office administration or Six months experience in event planning and office administration.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-Bachelors Degree
-Six Months retail experience which includes purchasing and budget management.

BENEFITS
Contractual employees who works for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program (the Program), have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents.
As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.
