The Comptroller of Maryland Administration and Finance Division is looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking leader to serve as Manager of the Administrative Services Section. 

Our office is located in the heart of beautiful, historic Annapolis. Candidates with management experience and who excel in the areas of attention to detail, accuracy, teamwork, and a commitment to public service are encouraged to apply. 

The main purposes of this position includes leading, managing, and overseeing the division support functions provided to the division and agency, which includes overseeing the mailroom operations, serving as the coordinator for building maintenance in the Annapolis Treasury Building and parking in the Annapolis complex; functioning as division liaison with the agency IT division regarding division web content and updates on the agency internal web site; reviewing agency corporate purchasing card monthly statements for compliance with policy; and handling HR duties for the division.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience:  Five years professional work experience in accounting, auditing, customer service, or general management. Two years of this professional work experience must have involved supervising professional accountants or auditors, or must have been in a responsible administrative or management capacity.

NOTES:
  1. Candidates may substitute the possession of an associates degree and two additional years of the required experience for the Bachelor's Degree.
  2. Candidates may substitute four additional years of the required experience for the Bachelor's Degree.
  3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License for two years of the required experience.

EXAMINATION PROCESS

Qualifying applicants are subject to an oral interview. Prior to appointment, the employee must successfully undergo a comprehensive background investigation including a review of criminal, MVA and tax records; and determination of legal authorization to work in the United States or under the United States Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. This background check is comprehensive and may involve fingerprinting. Upon initial appointment OR promotion to a position in the State Personnel Management System, an employee is required to serve an initial six- month probationary period. This probationary period may be extended an additional six months under certain circumstances at the discretion of the appointing authority.
