POSITION DUTIES

This position is responsible for serving as the primary on-site office contact for the Office of the Statewide EEO Coordinator to provide administrative support such as greeting customers, answering telephones, checking mail, filing, scanning, and special projects.The Administrative Officer III is also responsible for collecting and analyzing statistics and state agencies EEO program information to produce the Annual Statewide Equal Employment Opportunity Report. In addition, the Administrative Officer III is responsible for producing the Managing for Results Report annually and the EEO-4 Report, a mandatory biennial data collection. This position designs, develops and manages databases to track mandatory training requirements and other unit-specific dataThis position coordinates training for the statewide Equal Employment Opportunity Community and assists the OSEEOC staff as needed, and other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:   Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Three years of administrative staff or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to two years of the required experience. 

2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from a college or university for the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.  

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Proven knowledge of federal and state of Maryland Civil Rights laws.  

One to two years of experience working with Microsoft Excel or similar programs, designing, developing and managing multiple databases. 

Experience with assisting in EEO investigations.

One to two years experience working independently on projects.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

Successful candidates will be ranked as Best Qualified, Better Qualified, or Qualified and placed on the employment (eligible) list for at least one year.  The resulting certified eligible list for this recruitment may be used for similar positions in this or other State agencies.
