Main Purpose of Job
The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking applicants for an Administrative Specialist II. The position provides administrative support for the four (4) Assistant Attorneys General who constitute the Enforcement Unit for the Baltimore City Office of Child Support.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: preparing and typing legal pleadings, correspondences and other documents; reviewing and organizing documents in advance of hearings; maintaining legal files; receiving and screening telephone calls and office visitors; and generally assisting with the secretarial administration of the unit. A hybrid remote telework and in-office schedule option may be available per OAG’s policies and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two years of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Ideal candidate will have the following:
1. Experience reviewing and organizing legal documents in advance of hearings.
2. Experience maintaining legal files.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidates may be responsible for providing their own transportation as needed to access meetings, remote locations, and job destinations as assigned.
