The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) is seeking dedicated candidates to fill important roles within our department. POSITION DUTIES

This position will be responsible for several large scale furniture installation projects from the planning to implementation stages. The incumbent will be working directly with the sales team, customers, and manufacturing units, so communication, collaboration, organizational skills, attention to detail, and professionalism are essentials to the success of the position. Some key responsibilities include:

  • Works in conjunction with designers to coordinate large projects involving more than one MCE product line
  • Coordinates delivery and installation of MCE Product
  • Obtain proof of delivery for product shipments and project completion certificates from customers
  • Address unresolved installation and punch issues in a timely manner 
  • Organize and file all necessary documentation in project folders
  • Review backlogs to determine any necessary follow-up
  • Interact closely with manufacturing units, installers and customers as needed
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff to package, ship and deliver product and equipment
  • Orchestrate post install punch lists and priorities while effectively communicating customer needs to MCE personnel and installation partners
  • Maintain library of product literature, blueprints, computer disks, specification manuals, business contacts and project portfolios

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet all minimum (and selective) qualifications to be considered, and to appear on the list of people eligible for hire. Please read all requirements before applying.

Education:   Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of administrative staff or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for one year of the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from a college or university for the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Two years of experience involving installation of office furniture, classroom, seating/lounge furniture and panel systems

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.


1. Experience coordinating furniture installation to include sight visits to review project with end user and shipping.

2. Experience creating documents in Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint.

3. Knowledge of design and construction methodologies for a variety of building types, mechanical and electrical systems and construction delivery methods.


LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
