POSITION DUTIES

This position is mainly responsible for providing support to the Director of Sales. In addition, this position will provide support to the Sales Manager, Design Manager, and Customer Service Manager. This is a multifaceted position responsible for understanding complex procedures in a diverse team. This position will be responsible for coordinating and supporting various sales office operations including tracking, analyzing, and reporting on sales data, entering orders, administrative, technology, and system support, and other customer service duties as assigned. This position will regularly interact with customers, board members, and stakeholders to answer questions and concerns about products, pricing, lead times, and state procurement procedures.

  • Provide administrative support to the MCE Sales team to include maintaining calendars, tracking sales trends, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction throughout the agency.
  • Assist the sales team in identifying and communicating with new and existing clients to include compiling and following up with sales quotes.
  • Coordinate and attend special events on behalf of the sales team.
  • Utilize the Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software to maintain accurate data and reporting.
  • Schedule meetings and confirm appointments with stakeholders on behalf of the Director of Sales.
  • Acts as the liaison between MCE staff and customer regarding order inquiries and status updates.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Four years performing secretarial work or clerical work involving typing duties.

Notes:

1. Additional secretarial or clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Thirty credit hours with a major in secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college may be substituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for up to two years of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration classifications or Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the Administrative Support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

1.  Experience utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning and Customer Relationship Management (ERP and/or CRM) software.

2.  Prior administrative support experience.

3.  Two years or more of sales and/or customer service experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties that require the operation of a motor vehicle.  Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Demonstrated ability to accurately type on a keyboard on a personal computer at a minimum of forty words per minute may be required, depending on the specific requirements of the position.
