Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Plan, manage, implement and direct the Department’s voice/data networking infrastructure located at 1100 N. Eutaw Street headquarters and various field offices located throughout the State. This management ensures maximum effectiveness and optimal cost-efficiency of each system.
- Prepare and process Telecommunication Service Requests (TSRs) and Purchase Orders for DLLR Headquarters and various units of the agency. Provide support and resolution for telecommunication issues resulting from these requests associated with, but not limited to MAC’s, new PRI circuits, local and long distance, cable requirements for voice and data, NEC PBX’s, Wireless and voice mail systems.
- Develop and monitor telecommunications policies to ensure compliance with government regulations. Recommend change to processes, policies, and metrics to facilitate agency performance. Evaluate and recommend new products and systems to improve network and telecommunications reliability and productivity.
- Works with vendors to complete maintenance upgrades to existing telephone network equipment and purchases new equipment to keep networks up to date.
- Prepare required reports and analyses requested by upper management and Office of Budget and Fiscal Services. Provide assistance with developing strategies, goals and action plans for the agency.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Four years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Additional experience in administrative staff or professional work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.

State of Maryland FMIS System experience
Telephone Service request experience
Trouble shooting telephone tickets/issues experience
Experience with automated call distribution systems
