Main Purpose of Job

This is a full performance-level position that will carry out case coordination and administrative activities, in order to support individuals and families with accessing appropriate levels of care. This position will provide care coordination for consumers in the Public Behavioral Health System, as well as linkage to services. This position will also oversee the approval/screening process for the appropriate requested level of care for consumers in the Public Behavioral Health System, in addition to recipients in need of crisis management and homelessness prevention. Finally, this position will be responsible for the monitoring, planning and administration of community-based programs in the Public Behavioral Health System, all of which serve individuals and families with mental health and/or substance use problems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Education, Counseling, or a related field.

Experience: Five years of professional experience in health services, two years of which must have been in the option for which the application is made.

Notes: 1. Applicants may substitute a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a health or human services field for one year of the required general experience.

2. Experience in the option must be as follows: professional work related to treatment and services for mentally ill patients.

3. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in another field, plus one additional year of professional experience in health services, may be substituted for the specific degree.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a Commissioned Officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health related field of work, on a year-for-year basis, for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should have experience monitoring grants and overseeing budgets, as well as experience providing referral, linkage and assistance to individuals and families in the Public Behavioral Health System who are in need of behavioral health services.
