Introduction
**This is a Management Service position and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.**
This is a position specific recruitment for the Department of Natural Resources, Finance and Administrative Services. This recruitment will be used to fill current vacancies for the position and may be used to fill future vacancies in the same classification/function. Future vacancies may also be filled via other recruitments. The resulting eligible list will be maintained for one year.

Main Purpose of Job
The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Finance and Administrative Services (FAS), is currently accepting applications for an Accountant Manager I.
The position serves as the Manager of the General Accounting Section of the FAS unit. In addition, the incumbent assists the Associate Director of Accounting with the fiscal year closeout process.
Some of the duties will include:
- Supervision of 5 direct and subordinate staff responsible for Treasury Management, Data Entry into the statewide accounting system applications
- Acts as the Fiscal Officer for the Office of the Secretary programs as well as the FAS unit
- Prepares monthly budget versus expenditure projections for the Office of the Secretary programs
- Provides fiscal support to DNR agency fiscal staff
- Coordinates with various auditors on cash handling procedures
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, business administration, or other related field.
Experience: Four years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.

1. Additional experience in administrative or professional work within an accounting or finance office may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year to year basis for the required general experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

If not using substitution 2 or 3 noted above, then two years of experience performing general or subsidiary ledger account reconciliations is required.
