NATURE OF WORK

This is lead level work promoting economic growth in the State.

EXAMPLES OF WORK

Negotiates with representatives and corporate executives of major businesses and industries seeking new locations. This involves obtaining and analyzing locational specifications, recommending communities, industrial sites and/or buildings which meet such specifications, making the necessary arrangements for inspection tours and accompanying the prospects on such tours.

Personally visit representatives and corporate executives of business and industry to present information concerning Maryland’s economic and locational advantages.

Prepares presentations and detailed reports in response to specific inquires concerning new business and industrial locations or opportunities for expansion.

Prepares or oversees the preparation of correspondence and reports pertinent to the assigned area of responsibility.

Establishes and maintains contacts with local development group sources of data or users of data within the assigned area.

Market opportunity studies specifically designed to attract certain industry groups to Maryland.

Specialize in negotiating with representatives and corporate executives of major foreign businesses and industries seeking new locations or in seeking tourist facility projects for Maryland or involved in the promotion of international trade.

Perform other necessary duties as required.
