NATURE OF WORK

A Supervisor Budget Examiner supervises a team of Budget Analysts, Operating assigned various State agencies. The State Budget Office helps the Secretary of Budget and Management draft an annual State operating budget for the Governor's consideration.  Employees in this classification supervise lower-level Budget Analysts, Operating.

Employees in this classification receive managerial supervision from a higher-level executive.

Positions in this classification are evaluated by using the classification job evaluation methodology.  The use of this method involves comparing the assigned duties and responsibilities of a position to the job criteria found in the Nature of Work and Examples of Work sections of the class specification.

The Supervisor Budget Examiner is differentiated from the Budget Analyst IV, Operating in that the Supervisor Budget Examiner has supervisory responsibility for lower-level Budget Analysts, Operating while the Budget Analyst IV, Operating assigns, reviews and approves the work of and trains lower-level Budget Analysts, Operating.

EXAMPLES OF WORK

Helps the Secretary of Budget and Management draft an annual State operating budget for the Governor's consideration.
