NATURE OF WORK

A Volunteer Activities Coordinator Supervisor is the supervisory level of work directing a comprehensive volunteer activities program in a State facility, institution or community-based program.  Employees in this classification supervise lower‑level Volunteer Activities Coordinators and may supervise administrative and support staff, students and volunteers assigned to the volunteer activities program.

Employees in this classification receive general supervision from the administrator of the facility or community program.  Employees may be subject to 24 hour call-in and overtime based on staffing needs.  The work may require coordinating day, evening, night or weekend activities.

Positions in this classification are evaluated by using the classification job evaluation methodology.  The use of this method involves comparing the assigned duties and responsibilities of a position to the job criteria found in the Nature of Work and Examples of Work sections of the class specifications.
