Responsibilities
Assists in the development and management of the Department of Water's annual
capital budget with sources and uses, the ten-year capital improvement program, the annual capital
appropriation budget and the daily management of capital funds. Performs administrative duties associated
with the daily management of construction and service contracts which includes assisting with contract
agreements, preparing City Manager's reports for contract award, processing contract change orders (or
amendments) and coordinating with project managers on proper procedures. The incumbent ensures timely
payments are made to consultants/contractors, resolves payment issues and manages the financial portions of
the contracts to make sure that all changes are properly accounted for and funded. The Water Contracts
Administrator is also accountable for the financial management of any grant funds acquired by the Department
of Water. This includes compliance with all of the grant requirements and reporting of funds. Must be able to
work closely with all bureaus in the Division of Water as well as all levels of the City organization to complete
assigned tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other closely related field
AND 3
years of experience in the areas of budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, or auditing. Must have
management level experience in grants and capital projects.
Degree must be from a college or university that
is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through the North Central Association of Colleges and
Universities or equivalent region.
License Requirements
Must have a valid driver's license at time of appointment and maintain as a condition of employment.

Background Check

Final appointment is contingent upon the applicant passing a job-related medical examination including drug screen.
