Responsibilities

The Airport Marketing and Air Service Coordinator coordinates airport strategies, analyzes air service statistics and trends to enhance air service development at the Dayton International Airport. Oversees air service development for the two City-owned airports; oversees and manages the marketing function as it relates to air service development. Visits and negotiates with airline corporate offices and cargo operators and interacts with corporate teams to sell Dayton as a destination. Reviews and conducts analytical studies and special projects; responsible for establishing and maintaining systems for tracking and reporting local, regional and national air service activities to develop strategies that promote commercial air service growth and development. Represents and protects the Airports' interests on committees such as The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA), American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and Airport Council International (ACI). Responsible for the overall communication strategy in support of the Airport's Strategic Marketing Plan, including leading, driving and delivering long-term organizational strategies through the development, implementation and management of integrated marketing and communications strategies across all internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration or a related field AND 3 years of increasingly responsible experience in air service development/marketing at an air carrier airport or similar environment.

Acting in an advisory capacity to the air service/marketing division of an air carrier airport is preferred.

Degree must be from a college or university that is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools Higher Learning Commission or equivalent region. 

License Requirements

Must possess a valid driver’s license at time of appointment and maintain thereafter as a term and condition of continued employment.

Background Check 
A background investigation and evidence of Employment Authorization and Identity is required prior to employment. All candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position, including current city employees seeking transfer, promotion, demotion, etc. into a classified position. 

Police and U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) fingerprint and background investigations are required to work at the Dayton International Airport.

Medical Examination & Drug and Nicotine Testing 
Final appointment is contingent upon the applicant passing a job-related medical examination including drug screen. Applicants offered employment with the City will be required to pass a nicotine screening. Newly hired employees must remain tobacco and nicotine free as a condition of continued employment. The Tobacco and Nicotine Free Hiring Policy does not apply to current City employees.
