Responsibilities

This position involves responsibility for the performance of bookkeeping work of more than average difficulty. Work assignments range from assisting the Division Manager in the preparation of the annual budget to maintaining control over a specified segment of a large bookkeeping or payroll operation to aiding lower level bookkeepers in tracing discrepancies. Initiative, exercise of independent judgment and application of bookkeeping knowledge is necessary in the performance of these functions. Assignments are carried out with minimum supervision and are reviewed primarily for accuracy of work and immediate availability of information when needed. Incumbent assists in the preparation of the annual budget.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school (or G.E.D.) AND experience in the performance of varied bookkeeping, office and clerical tasks.

General Requirements

Must have a working knowledge of modern office principles, practices and appliances with ability to operate office equipment; possess ability to prepare bookkeeping reports and statements in addition to maintaining bookkeeping records; and have the ability to make arithmetical computation quickly and accurately. Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written communication and instructions. Ability to operate adding machines, personal computer and other office equipment.

Background Check
A background investigation and evidence of Employment Authorization and Identity is required prior to employment. Final appointment is contingent upon the applicant passing a job-related medical examination including drug screen.
