Airport Operations/Maintenance Supervisor

Responsibilities

Enforces airport ordinances and FAA regulations applicable to airport users, tenants, contractors and the public.  Coordinates the building maintenance and housekeeping staff and activities at Dayton International Airport, Dayton Wright Brothers Airport and the Dayton Heliport on a 24-hour, 7-day per week basis.  Assists the Operations/Maintenance Coordinator in the development of specifications and bid appraisal process for building maintenance services and equipment to ensure maximum necessary service at the lowest cost.  Supervises the runway checks, airfield signage, terminal cleaning, general repair, staff services, heating and air conditioning equipment and structural problems that may arise.  Directly supervises 17-35 employees.  The incumbent must maintain a thorough knowledge of administrative policies and procedures, and standard operating guidelines/procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

1.  Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Facilities Management, Construction Management or related field AND 3 years of experience in facilities management or related field; OR

2.  Associate's degree in Aviation Management, Facilities Management, Construction Management or related field AND 5 years of experience in facilities management or related field; OR

3.  Graduation from high school (or G.E.D.) AND 10 years of experience in facilities management or related field.  Must obtain an Associate's degree in Aviation Management, Facilities Management, Construction Management or related field within 3 years of appointment.

Degree must be from a college or university that is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools Higher Learning Commission or equivalent region.

License Requirements

Must possess a valid driver's license at time of appointment and maintain thereafter as a term and condition of continued employment.
