The State of Connecticut, including the partnership between the Department of Children and Families (DCF) and UConn Health is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Nurse Consultant to join the team at John Dempsey Hospital's Solnit South Campus in the Quality and Training Department.
In this role, the Nurse Consultant will play a critical role in evaluating compliance with state and federal regulations, lead nursing training to ensure best practices are followed, and assist with policy development related to nursing standards of practice. This position will make a significant impact on the lives of young adults, ensuring that our staff is equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide high-quality care.
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in providing exceptional care and leadership in a psychiatric healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will have a valid RN license and experience in a healthcare environment, ideally including work in psychiatric facilities. A thorough understanding of state and federal healthcare regulations is essential, along with outstanding communication and leadership abilities. This role requires expertise in implementing effective training and development programs and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of care, safety, and compliance. The position is strictly on-site, with a regular schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Schedule flexibility may be needed in order to meet the needs of the agency. John Dempsey Hospital (JDH) in Middletown, CT is widely recognized as a center of excellence for family-centered treatment of children and youth with serious emotional disturbances. This state-administered Psychiatric facility and hospital provides comprehensive care to children and adolescents under the age of eighteen, with severe mental illness and related behavioral and emotional problems who cannot be safely assessed or treated in a less restrictive setting.
