THE ROLE
The Inspection Aide will be responsible for:
- Performing basic technical duties in support of the division's units;
- Dealing with the public, other agencies, jurisdictions, or private organizations in regulatory work;
- Assisting inspectors and investigators with cases for investigation;
- Writing reports on findings;
- May conduct field inspections;
- Perform related duties as required.

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
In a state agency this class is accountable for performing a full range of basic technical inspection or regulatory work.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
- Performs basic technical duties of field inspection;
- Deals with the public, other agencies, jurisdictions, or private organizations in regulatory work such as agriculture, consumer protection, environmental, food services, legalized gambling, motor vehicle, public safety, and weights and measures;
- Makes field inspections;
- Assists inspectors with cases for investigation;
- Takes samples of the premises, products, vehicles, etc.;
- Writes reports on findings;
- Performs related duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
- Skills

- interpret and apply law enforcement and regulatory requirements of the assigned agency;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any experience or training which would provide the knowledge, skill, and ability indicated above.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience performing assigned tasks without supervision.
- Experience performing internet research using analytical techniques.
- Experience writing reports.
- Experience with Microsoft office suite, including Excel workbooks.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
A complete physical examination may be required prior to employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Incumbents in this class may occasionally be exposed to moderately disagreeable job conditions.
