At the State of Connecticut, Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS) we are recruiting for a Math Instructor to join our team at Bullard-Haven Technical High School in Bridgeport, CT.
Join a dedicated educational team committed to preparing students for academic achievement and future success as a Math Instructor. In this role, you will create engaging and rigorous learning experiences that support students with diverse learning needs while fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and a strong foundation in high school mathematics. The ideal candidate will bring strong content knowledge, effective instructional practices, and a passion for helping students succeed in both individual and collaborative learning environments.
As a Math Instructor, you will design and implement purposeful lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and instructional goals, utilizing differentiated strategies and varied assessment methods to support all learners. You will cultivate a positive classroom culture that promotes respect, intellectual engagement, and active participation while effectively managing classroom procedures and student behavior. Collaboration is an essential component of this position, as you will work closely with guidance staff, special education personnel, and support service educators to ensure accommodations and individualized supports are successfully implemented.
In addition to classroom instruction, this role requires a commitment to professional growth, reflective teaching practices, and ongoing communication with students and families. The successful candidate will actively participate in professional learning communities, uphold the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality, and support the mission, policies, and values of the district while helping to maintain a safe, ethical, and student-centered school environment.
To be considered for this position, Math Instructors must possess an active State of Connecticut teaching certificate in one of the following areas:
