At the DOL, we are currently recruiting to fill one vacancy as a Research Analyst located in Wethersfield, CT.
Position Highlights:

The Role:
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Research Analyst supports workforce programs through data analysis, research, and reporting to inform program management and policy decisions. This role manages and supports data systems, analyzes program and performance data, and prepares narrative and statistical reports for leadership and stakeholders. The position also contributes to research projects, develops and maintains databases, and interprets system-generated reports to support program evaluation, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement research and analytical projects to support program evaluation, policy analysis, and organizational decision-making.
- Analyze, interpret, and organize data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, and program outcomes.
- Prepare narrative and statistical reports, dashboards, and summaries to communicate findings to leadership and program staff.
- Develop, maintain, and support computerized databases and data management systems to ensure accurate and reliable data collection and reporting.
- Analyze and interpret system-generated reports to support performance monitoring, research initiatives, and program improvement efforts.
- Provide technical support and guidance related to data systems, reporting tools, and data quality.
- Perform related research, data analysis, and reporting duties as required.

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
In a state agency this class is accountable for independently performing a full range of tasks in research design and implementation.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
- Develops and implements formal research projects and assists in these activities on more comprehensive and complex research assignments;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Six (6) years of professional experience in research, data analysis or economics.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED
- College training may be
substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester
hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4)
years for a Bachelor's degree.
- A Master's degree in
economics, statistics or a closely related field may be substituted for one (1)
additional year of the General Experience.
- Successful completion of a
Connecticut Careers Trainee program approved by the Department of
Administrative Services may be substituted for the General Experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), including Titles I and IV program structures.
- Experience providing result-driven training or technical assistance to staff or partners using a management information systems or tools (e.g., CTHires).
- Experience developing Quarterly Narrative Reports for federal grants and accompanying reports from CTHires or comparable management information systems.
