The Role:
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Receive training on
implementing, evaluating and documenting care of patients adhering to hospital
and care center policies and standards of professional nursing practice;
- Consistently demonstrates the

giving direct care;
- Confers with nurses and
physicians on other shifts regarding condition of patients/clients;

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
In a state agency this class is used as a structured development program designed for pre-licensure nursing students to provide basic entry level nursing care to promote, maintain, and restore the health of patients and clients. This class is intended for individuals who are active in an accredited nursing program, and who have met that program’s requirement for participating in onsite clinical training.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Positions in this class will be used for training purposes. They will be limited to students currently enrolled and attending an accredited school of nursing.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Incumbents in this class must be CPR certified.
- Incumbents in this class may be required to be fluent in a foreign language or proficient in the use of the American Sign Language in certain designated positions.
- Incumbents in this class may be required to successfully maintain an F Endorsement for transportation purposes.
CHARACTER REQUIREMENTS
In addition to the checking of references and of facts stated in the application, a thorough background investigation of each candidate may be made before persons are certified for permanent appointment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Incumbents in this class may be required to lift and restrain patients/clients; may have exposure to disagreeable conditions, communicable and/or infectious diseases and to risk of injury from assaultive and/or abusive patients/clients.

COMPENSATION GUIDELINES
Compensation will be $20.00 per hour.
