ABOUT THE AUTHORITY
The State of Connecticut Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance Authority (the "Authority") is a quasi-governmental agency formed by statute and signed into law by Governor Ned Lamont in 2019. Its mission is to help Connecticut’s workforce navigate health challenges and life changes with greater financial security. 

Through a trust funded by employees, the Authority makes benefits payments to eligible employees when either the employee or their family member takes a leave from work to care for themselves or a family member. 

The Role
The Authority is looking for an experienced Lead Quality Assurance Analyst. The Quality Assurance Analyst works in partnership with the Product Owner, IT Solution Manager and IT Solution Architect and is responsible for testing the functionality, accessibility, and usability of the CTPL Application platform and for participating in release coordination. 

Position Details:
Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday-Friday
Location: Hartford, Connecticut

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

  • Gain a full understanding of the capabilities of the platform;
  • Develop test cases for all new functionalities being released into production;
  • Develop and execute test plans for each release;
  • Record and track any bugs or issues, including cause and solution in Jira;
  • Collaborate with the developers to resolve issues;
  • Create effective and efficient protocols for testing;
  • Recommend improvements in software to enhance user experience;
  • Identify training opportunities and needs for the Authority;
  • Ensure the completion of necessary training for all departments including the contact center;
  • Complete system documentation as required;
  • Take the lead in coordinating all test activities relating to a release.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related degree. 
  • 5 years or more experience with software development and testing.
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Experience using Jira and Xray Test Management;
  • Experience with Salesforce and Salesforce Report Builder;
  • Experience with automated testing tools, such as Selenium;
  • Experience with agile software development. 
Additional Skills:
  • Experience collaborating with teams to improve processes and align with agency goals;
  • Experience using verbal and written communication with internal and external customers;
  • Experience working independently to analyze issues and resolve problems;
  • Experience using critical thinking and problem solving skills to solve business needs;
  • Experience prioritizing work and meeting time sensitive deadlines, including follow-through while balancing and prioritizing multiple activities and responsibilities;
  • Experience using virtual face-to-face technologies (MS Teams, Zoom, WebEx, chat, etc.) to present and engage stakeholders.
