The State of Connecticut, Department of Public Health (DPH) is hiring! We are seeking a qualified individual for the position of Epidemiologist 2. This Epidemiologist 2 position will work in Infectious Diseases Section's Epidemiology and Emerging Infections Program (EEIP). Staff of the EEIP perform surveillance, outbreak investigation, and response to infectious diseases across the state and are critical to protecting the health of people in Connecticut. We conduct surveillance for more than 50 infectious diseases and investigate foodborne, waterborne, zoonotic, and person-to-person disease outbreaks. We work to determine incidence of disease, monitor disease trends over time, identify risk factors for illness, and develop intervention strategies to prevent illness.
Within the Department of Public Health, Infectious Diseases Section, Epidemiology and Emerging Infections Program, this Epidemiologist 2 position reports to the Epidemiologist 3. The duties of this position will include but are not limited to:
