The State of Connecticut Office of the State Comptroller is seeking to fill positions to serve on the Medical Examining Board in the Retirement Services Division. These positions serve as board members to determine whether each applicant for disability retirement is entitled to such retirement. The MEB requires at least one member in each of the following specialties: Psychiatry, Occupational Therapy, Pulmonology, Orthopedics, Neurology, and Cardiology. Hours are part-time as assigned per hearing, plus hours spent for preparation, review, and writing.

Incumbents in this class must possess and retain a license, in good standing, to practice medicine and surgery in Connecticut.
Restriction: Permanent status cannot be obtained by working in this classification. Service on the MEB shall not impact retirement benefits for physicians who are retired from the State of Connecticut.
