The State of Connecticut, Department of Agriculture (DoAg), Farmland Preservation Unit of the Bureau of Agricultural Development and Resource Preservation has one (1) available opening for a full time Environmental Intern with a target class of Environmental Analyst 1. After the successful completion of a one (1) year training program, the incumbent would be promoted to the target class of Environmental Analyst 1. This position works on all phases of the purchase of development rights (“PDR”) to farmland, also known as agricultural conservation easements, and will coordinate with and provide outreach to municipalities, non-profit land trusts, and other organizations involved in farmland conservation, farmland access, and long-term land stewardship. The position will also assist with the Connecticut Farmlink and Farmland Restoration Program.
This is a 35 hour per week position, Monday through Friday, work hours may vary with field activity and location. This position is located at 450 Columbus Boulevard in Hartford, although the position will require frequent days spent outdoors conducting fieldwork. Tele-working is also allowable with preapproval.
