The Bureau of Energy and Technology Policy (BETP) manages local, state and regional energy policy issues for the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) with the goal of establishing a clean, economical and reliable energy future for all residents. The Office of Energy Supply is responsible for overseeing the procurement of renewable and clean energy resources, the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, the microgrid grant program, and the development of energy supply decarbonization policies and initiatives for the state, among other energy supply efforts.
DEEP has a current opportunity for a Research Analyst Supervisor within the Office of Energy Supply, specifically on Supply Infrastructure projects and Compliance and Modeling projects. This person will be responsible for providing supervisory support for planning the state’s decarbonized energy supply, including but not limited to electric transmission planning at ISO-New England and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, natural gas in a decarbonized state, greenhouse gas emissions accounting, and renewable thermal technologies. This person will also be responsible for providing supervisory support for Connecticut’s participation in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, which is a regional market-based program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from electric generators. This position will include a wide-range of supervisory, technical and analytical duties, including researching and developing assumptions and inputs for energy modeling, and developing technical documents, reports, and memorandums to support the Bureau’s filings before the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority, ISO-New England, and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

This position is full-time 40 hours per week Monday - Friday, and located in New Britain, CT.
