The State of Connecticut, Department of Agriculture (DoAG) has one (1) available opportunity for a Grants and Contracts Specialist. The DoAG manages many federal and state funded grants. Considering the number of grants and the complexity of the application, administration and accomplishment and financial reporting process for each, the Department has a need for a Grants and Contract Specialist with the expertise to manage the Department’s grants and seek additional available grant funds. The incumbent will report directly to the Commissioner’s office and work closely with staff from all three agency bureaus. They will also provide more consistency in the entire process and would be required to report to the Department’s DAS assigned grant fiscal administrator. The Grants and Contracts Specialist duties will include but not be limited to preparing annual budgets, reconciling accounts, administering grants and subsidies, contract oversight, and managing fiscal processes and supervise support staff. They may also be required to travel to annual conferences.
This is a permanent, full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm. The position is located at 450 Columbus Blvd., Hartford, CT 06103.

• Experience managing state and federal grants;
• Fiscal experience, including budget development, accounts payable, accounts receivable and procurement;
• Knowledge of state statutes and regulations;
• Experience developing written policies and procedures;
• Experience with grants and contract management software.
