The State of Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT) seeks qualified applicants for two (2) Transportation Engineer Technician Trainee positions. These are a 40-hour per week positions in the Survey Unit of the District 2 Office of Construction, located in Norwich.
Transportation Engineer Technician Trainees are eligible for promotion to the target class of Transportation Engineer Technicians after successful completion of the one (1) year training program.
The incumbents will be responsible for independently performing a full range of survey duties in support of transportation construction engineering projects which include operating and maintaining survey equipment; collecting field data; laying out project limits; creating charts, maps, and plotting profiles; calculating areas and volumes; and preparing reports.
