DRS is currently accepting applications to establish a pool of qualified candidates to fill one current vacancy and future vacancies for Connecticut Careers Trainees (CCTs) with a target class of Revenue Agent 1. This recruitment will be used for future vacancies for up to 1 year.
This CCT is a one (1) year on-the-job training program. This training program prepares candidates to become a tax collector, or Revenue Agent 1. Successful candidates will put to use their knowledge, skills and abilities, while gaining the necessary experience through side-by-side instructional training and learning to independently collecting an array of past due tax types from various taxpayers for the State of Connecticut. This is a collection / customer service call center position which entails heavy telephone contact with taxpayers.
The positions are 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and will be located at 450 Columbus Blvd., in Hartford, CT.

In a state agency this class is accountable for mastering the skills necessary to satisfactorily complete the training program for a professional position.
In a department or institution receives training in introductory governmental work for development of skills and knowledge in field of public administration in order to qualify for advancement into agency professional positions; performs a variety of increasingly difficult duties as skills are acquired during course of training period; performs related duties as required.
Oral and written communication skills; ability to acquire knowledge and skills required for the target classification; ability to understand, evaluate and solve problems by exercising judgement and logic; ability to read, interpret and understand written material; ability to perform basic arithmetical computations; ability to interpret charts, graphs and tables; learning and reasoning ability; ability to establish and maintain cooperative relations with superiors, associates and general public; ability to utilize computer software.
Possession of a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
Ability to learn and adapt to new processes and computer systems
Experience in being collaborative with verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively

Strong organizational skills
Ability to utilize computer software including Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
