If so, discover this opportunity to join DAS' Application Services division! We are recruiting for a full-time Information Technology Analyst 2. In this exciting role, you will focus on Collections Recovery while supporting the our business portfolio with other operating agencies.

Great for all commuters, we are located in Hartford, at 55 Farmington Avenue. This a thirty-five (35) hours per week position, working from 8:00am-4:00pm, provided with a one (1) hour lunch.

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)

In a state agency Information Technology (IT) environment, this class is accountable for independently performing a full range of information technology tasks and project coordination work involving infrastructure systems support, security and application development in an IT environment.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

As an ITA 2 you will:

  • Debug and/or corrects errors;

  • Maintain integrity of software and applications;

  • Writing utilities for system management, reporting;

  • Design and develop routine to moderately complex applications including screens, forms and reports;

  • Configure database parameters, and prototypes designs;

  • Define data elements and prepares source code;

  • Analyze assigned specifications, codes, tests and implements software solution;

  • Constructs operational Database Management System (DBMS) and data stores that enable informational, analytical management inquiry

  • Responsible for all phases of systems development life cycle;

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE

    Six (6) years of experience in information technology (IT) operations, programming, systems/software development or another IT related support area.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SPECIAL EXPERIENCE

    One (1) year of the General Experience must have been performing professional information technology work in one of the following areas:
    1. Installation and support of microcomputer hardware, software and operating systems.
    2. Analysis, design and development of information systems.
    3. Network hardware and software installation and support.
    4. Network hardware and/or software problem diagnosis and resolution.
    NOTE: For state employees this is interpreted at the level of Information Technology Analyst 1.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED

    1. College training in management information systems, computer science or information technology related area may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling six (6) months of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.


    2. A Master's degree in management information systems, computer science or electrical engineering may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the General Experience.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    1. Work experience developing with SQL (Structured Query Language), Java, or C# (C Sharp);
    2. Experience with hybrid cloud architectures, on-premise & cloud with emphasis on developing micro services;
    3. Work Experience with utilities and tools used for batch record processing and job scheduling;
    4. Experience with database design, logical and physical data modeling with enforced referential integrity;
    5. Experience working in a cloud project delivery model, cloud automation solutions.
