DESCRIPTION
Under supervision of a Unit Supervisor, on an as-needed basis, to perform for the Alameda County Probation Department services usually performed by Deputy Probation Officers, which may include Adult investigations, Juvenile intake or investigations, or Notice-to-appear, including the completed report of the investigation and/or Court report and Adult or Juvenile Supervision functions.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES

Services-as-needed Deputy Probation Officers are employed on an hourly basis to provide specific services which would otherwise be performed by regularly-appointed Deputy Probation Officers who are absent from their assignments, in order to participate in State-mandated training, or due to long-term illness or disability.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university,

And

Previous employment as a regularly-appointed Deputy Probation Officer,

And

Satisfactory completion of training for Probation Officers as specified by the California Board of Corrections, Peace Officer Standards and Training - PC 832.

Up-to-date familiarity with probation legislation, case law and policies in as they may apply to assigned projects and tasks.

May be required to possess a valid California driver's license.

NOTE: The Civil Service Commission may modify the above Minimum Qualifications in the announcement of an examination.
