The mission of the Department of Revenue Services (DRS) is to instill public confidence in the integrity and fairness of tax collection; achieve the highest level of voluntary taxpayer compliance; continuously improve agency performance; contribute to the fiscal and economic well-being of the state; and provide a positive and professional workplace.
DRS is currently seeking to fill three (3) Connecticut Careers Trainee (CCT) positions for the Downtown Hartford office at 450 Columbus Boulevard. These positions will be responsible for learning to independently assist taxpayers with an array of Connecticut tax types. The target class for the CCT position is Tax Corrections Examiner 1.
The positions are full-time, 40 hours per week. The work schedule is 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday.

Candidates being selected for hire will be required to provide official college transcripts.
Qualified current State employees being considered for further steps in the hiring process wil be required to submit their last two performance appraisals while qualified non-state employees being considered for further steps in the hiring process will be required to submit three professional supervisory letters of reference.
These positions are non-competitive. Open to the public.
Selected candidates must successfully pass both State and Federal tax compliance check, a comprehensive criminal background check and supervisory reference checks.
Possession of a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
NOTE:
1. If the target job classification has a Substitution Allowed that requires the Bachelor's or Master's degree to be in a specific area(s), then these specific degree areas are required for appointment to the Connecticut Career Trainee classification.
2. Candidates cannot be appointed until all degree requirements are complete.
