3. Appeal Process - an applicant may appeal notice of not meeting the minimum qualifications (Civil Service Rules and Regulations, Section 3741, Subsection B, Article 9) to the Civil Service Commission within seven (7) days of the date on such notice. The following identifies the primary and essential functions of the position and is not intended to be an exhaustive listing of all duties; Issuance of demand notices; Issuance and update of Alias Tax Warrants. Responding to questions regarding same from State Marshals/City Constables and taxpayers; Accurate application of payments on said warrants according to State Statues, City and Office Policy and Procedures; Research and performance of administrative work associated with refunds of overpayments caused by Certificates of Correction and Court Stipulations as well as sending adjusted bills caused by the same; Accurately processing the Certificate of Correction file, file UCC Liens, research and prepare tax clearances; accurately code and prepare files for Banks, Mortgage Companies and leasing companies; Serve as Department contact person for questions and problems; Receive bankruptcy notifications, prepare a file and provide Corporation Counsel with accurate information for their files, may act as a liaison with Corporation Counsel Office, ascertain that there is compliance with Bankruptcy Law within our office, with Marshals and Constables and other contracted vendors; Accurately process payments as directed by the Bankruptcy Court and determine upon either dismissal or discharge from a bankruptcy suit which bills (if any) are due and payable, accurately and completely maintain Bankruptcy files; Perform duties associated with the Billing and Collection of police Extra Duty; Assist in performance of
administrative tasks related to Tax Auctions; Assist in the administration of water shut-off program and booting program; Answer phone, assist in online payment issues and providing accurate information to taxpayers, banks, attorneys, constables, marshals and other departments; Handle duties associated with Collection of Parking tickets; Perform duties associated with the contracted Tax Collection Agency on the collection of delinquent motor vehicle taxes and parking tickets; Fill in on the cashiering line as necessary; Fill in as head cashier when necessary, balancing cashier drawers, and assisting cashiers with problems and/or customer issues. Position may require training of other personnel; Performs other related work as assigned.
