The Administrative
Officer I – Diversion Specialist works with youth (“clients”) who have been
referred to the Diversion Program in lieu of court involvement with a
first-time, misdemeanor offense. This position conducts client intakes and
recommends clients to the appropriate life skills program base on a given
assessment. Diversion specialist will monitor clients throughout the program to
ensure successful completion. After program completion, recidivism will be
tracked, and a continuum of care plan will be implemented.
• Process referrals assigned by Program Manager.
• Schedule & conduct client intake sessions.
• Assign clients to the appropriate life skills program.
• Assist in summer programming with Diversion participants.
• Schedule & monitor life skills programs.
• Visit Diversion participants in school.
• Notify referring officers of completed intakes & required
school-based contacts.
• Conduct client exit interviews.
• Attend team & other meetings as assigned.
• Monthly reporting: grant time sheets to fiscal department.
• Submit weekly reports to Program Manager.
• Document all contact with clients.
• Ensure participants are completing interactive journals.
•Thoroughly document and maintain comprehensive records of client
interactions and contacts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
• Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical
condition necessary for sitting, standing, climbing, or walking for extended
periods of time.
• Light to moderate lifting and carrying; some crouching, stooping,
squatting, crawling, reaching, pushing, and pulling when performing tasks.
• Adequate vision, hearing, and speech required.
Sensory Requirements:
• Concentrated and attentive use of one or more senses (visual, audio, and
other sensory modalities) for proofreading, data entry, tabulating data.
• Ability to operate in an environment with frequent interruptions from
people and or noises, which in return could result in some level of stress,
fatigue, or strain.
• Comprehensive written information in work-related documents.
• Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech.
Working Conditions:
• Work is performed in an indoor office environment with moderate exposure
to atmospheric conditions; moderate exposure to environmental conditions (such
as officers, community members, victims, etc.); and frequent exposure to
computer screens, files, and phone.

School Graduate or equivalent with one (1) year of related experience
• OR Associate degree
