Summary

We are looking for a skilled Unified Endpoint Engineer, specializing in Intune to join our team. The candidate will join a team of engineers responsible for engineering and implementing an enterprise Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) Solution. The UEM solution shall be capable of managing all Windows and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) endpoints. As a member of the UEM team you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing Microsoft Intune solutions, Windows 10 and 11 provisioning, Active Directory group policies, and mobile device enrollment strategies to meet the unique needs of our departments. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Experience working with PowerShell - writing scripts, troubleshooting various Windows issues, interacting with devices through remote shell to get or set data.
  • Detailed experience and knowledge around the Windows operating system including working with the registry, services, and file systems.
  • Operating Systems Concepts – Active Directory, Security, OS Internals
  • Networking concepts – DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP
  • Demonstrated experience with exception handling, testing and debugging. 
  • Extensive experience managing a diverse fleet of endpoints, mobile devices (Apple and Android), laptops/desktops (Windows and MAC based) and using/supporting MDM or UEM solutions (i.e. Intune).
  • Thorough knowledge of Windows OS, Mobile device OS, Client management, Server management, Cloud and SaaS concepts.
  • Previous experience with Windows 10 and 11 provisioning.
  • Experience managing a large user base of 5000+ employees.
  • Experience with Zero-trust security and network connectivity.
  • A passion for technology and customer service and ability to run multiple technical projects at once.
  • Understanding of and experience in implementing changes related to data security programs that are PCI and industry compliant.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Extensive experience using SCCM, MECM, Intune and a thorough understanding of co-management.
  • Windows 10 and 11 Provisioning: Design and deploy Windows 10 and 11 provisioning processes using Intune Autopilot.
  • Previous experience managing mobile device configurations and app deployments using Intune.
  • Management of group policy objects. Demonstrated experience utilizing best practices for creating, testing, deploying, and managing GPO’s.
  • Implementation and maintenance of mobile device management tools and best practices.
  • Enterprise Mobile Device Management specifically of Android and iOS devices. Previous experience using DEP, ABM and a UEM solution to holistically manage user identity and associated devices.  
  • Mobile Application Management and the implementation of profiles and policies to secure corporate data
  • Implementation and/or management of devices in a BYOD environment.

Preferred Qualification

5+ years of well-rounded IT experience, preferably in a large enterprise environment.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Graduate or Equivalent and five (5) years of related work experience

2 Year College Degree and three (3) years of related work experience
 
OR
 
Bachelor's Level Degree and one (1) year of related work experience
 
OR
 
Master's Level Degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the essential job duties.

Conditions of Employment

The City’s Background Check Policy requires background checks to be conducted on final internal or external candidate(s) applying for any position with the City of Charlotte. The type of information that will be collected as part of a background check includes, but is not limited to: reference checks, social security verification, education verification, criminal conviction record check, and, if applicable, a credit history check, sex offender registry and motor vehicle records check.
