Innovation & Technology Administrator
We are seeking an accomplished Application Administrator to join
our team, focusing on the technical and administrative aspects of critical
Public Safety IT systems. The role involves expertise in system/server
administration, encryption, troubleshooting, and server migrations, acting as
the owner of some of the applications, and as an IT Liaison amongst other
groups and agencies. On the administrative side, responsibilities include
managing Cloud Application/Services Requests, handling Change Requests,
coordinating communications and meetings, and submitting/tracking various Ticketing
Requests. The candidate will also serve as an IT liaison between internal and
external functional areas, and other agencies actively participating in IT
projects, and managing asset and information resources. Proficiency in
scripting/automating tasks and strong communication skills are essential. This
role provides a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to IT projects
and organizational upgrades within our Public Safety IT organization.

Technical:
As the Technical Specialist for this role, you
will play a crucial role in System/Server Administration/Engineering,
dedicating 25% of your time to ensure the seamless operation of our
infrastructure.
Your responsibilities will encompass a spectrum of tasks, including the generation, assignment, and renewal of web certificates across various platforms such as IIS, Apache, application level such as Java Oracle Keystores, and OS-level encryption like EFS and SSH keys.
Need to be adept at troubleshooting, you will address server utilization issues, error logging, DNS discrepancies, and network traffic challenges.
Your expertise will extend to configuring security settings such as ciphers, TLS/SSL, and file encryption, while also actively monitoring CPU, Memory, Network, and Disk I/O.
Additionally, you will take charge of physical and virtual server migrations/upgrades andconfigure server settings to assist with
clustering, load balancing, and file shares.
Administrative:
In the Administrative realm,
you will undertake diverse responsibilities, contributing to the efficiency and
coordination of our operations, dedicating 75%
of your time.
You
will engage with customers and vendors in the completion of Cloud
Questionnaires for new solutions crucial to the Public Safety IT organization.
As a CRQ specialist, you will submit, track, and assist in change requests on
behalf of other administrators and those tasks performed for Public Safety IT.
Serving as the Change Impact Reviewer and Notifier, you will play a pivotal
role in communicating upcoming scheduled IT changes to the Public Safety IT
Group, and other city departments.
Your
involvement in Emails, Change Coordination, Notifications, and Meetings will be
instrumental in fostering collaboration among stakeholders. This will include
gathering information, creating communication, and ensuring effective
communication between groups. Additionally, you will be responsible for
disseminating organization-wide notifications for upcoming changes, unplanned
outages, and instructions, as well as scheduling meetings between functional
groups as needed.
A
significant portion of your role will involve submitting and tracking various
Cherwell Requests, covering areas such as adding additional VM Server
Resources, Server Requests, Firewall Requests, Cloud Questionnaires, Access
Requests, Vendor Requests, and Account creations. As the IT Liaison, you will
regularly collaborate with different PSIT subgroups, internal city groups, and
occasionally external entities, serving as a crucial link between various IT
functional areas.
Your
involvement will see you as the point of contact and implementer for various IT
projects and initiatives. This includes procurement of servers, assisting in
substantial IT organization upgrades, and setting up servers for specified
roles such as SFTP connections as an example. Furthermore, you will manage
Asset and Information Resources, maintaining server lists, contact lists for
vendors and external entities, and contributing to the creation of security
design documents and system architectures.

Required Education
and Experience
·
At least two years of relevant college-level course work or an associate
degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology,
Computer Science, or a related field.

One (1) to three (3) years of experience in applications/systems
administration, including specific experience with the type of system being
administered (Public Safety, Government, Law Enforcement, Emergency Services,
etc.)
·
Industry Standard IT Certifications such as those from CompTIA, Cisco,
Microsoft, Linux, and CAPM (Certified associate in project management).
·
Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that
provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities to successfully perform
this role.
