Function
The City of Charlotte, Charlotte Water Department is accepting applications for the Workforce Development Recruitment Co-op position for the Career Training Academy Co-op Program. This individual will work under the supervision of the Charlotte Water Administrative Division. The candidate can be a student currently enrolled in a post-secondary education program in Training, Workforce Development, Human Resources, or related curriculum, or have post-secondary experience in a related area.

per week.
Summary
This position is primarily responsible for supporting workforce development programs at Charlotte Water through planning, recruitment, training delivery, and job placement of adult participants.
This position will assist in developing, and coordinating Charlotte Water's Apprenticeship and Career Training Academy Internship and Co-op Programs, which are designed to increase employability, boost motivation, and improve fundamental skills.
The primary focus of this role will be administrative, identifying, sourcing, and attracting qualified candidates through a full-cycle recruitment process, perform a wide scope of administrative duties while exercising initiative, follow through, and confidentiality.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
This position will expose the participant to daily work operations including but not limited to:
• Prepare recruitment materials & post jobs to appropriate internal / external job board / colleges / etc.
• Attend job / career fairs with appropriate subject matter experts generating qualified applicants
• Participate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts as it relates to Recruitment.
• Facilitates the recruitment and onboarding process and collects data for process improvement.
• Assist with onboarding activities
• Schedules new and current employees for skill assessments and training.
• Collaborates with Charlotte Water's Human Resources team throughout the hiring process, including job matching throughout programming until completion.
• Assists apprentices and Career Training Academy participants in meeting program goals and objectives.
• Processes and audits paperwork on the employee, apprentice, and intern training plans and overall apprenticeship and Career Training Academy internship programming within the department.
• Fosters professional relationships within Charlotte Water and the community.
• Coordinates meetings, calendars, and events around programming and communicates program details with community organizations and prospective candidates.
• Performs other related job duties as assigned.

• Ability to obtain a City driving permit.
Minimum Qualifications
• Post-secondary experience, current or recent graduate in an accredited college or university with major course work in a related field of study specific to the departmental or work assignment.
LICESNCES, CERTIFICATIONS, or REGISTRATIONS:
• Requires a valid driver's license.
