Function
The Aviation Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for managing staff in the installation, administration, and maintenance of technology infrastructure and infrastructure operations.
Summary
The Aviation Infrastructure Manager will have oversight of the team responsible for the installation and maintenance airport network systems(s), virtual environments and data storage. Collaborate with various technical teams, internal and external stakeholders to meet the airport technology needs. This includes but is not limited to overseeing program budget and resources requirements, creating strategic infrastructure and virtual environment plans.
This position will also include the management of third-party vendors and developing proposals for contracts for technology enhancements.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
• Supervises the work of assigned personnel, including assigning and reviewing work, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations.
• Develops and manages information technology systems and provides strategic and tactical goals from design through implementation.
• Ability to listen, build rapport, and credibility as a strategic partner vertically within the business unit, as well as with leadership and functional teams
• Presents ideas and complex material clearly, concisely, logically and persuasively both orally and in writing
• Ensures timely, appropriate communication with stakeholders
• Participates in procurement processes to include RFP development, vendor selection and contract negotiation.
• Leverages vendors, service providers, and other City service areas as a part of overall IT service delivery. Ensures adherence to service level agreements and memorandum of understanding. Manage various consulting contracts to ensure compliance
• Develops and manages program operating and capital budgets.
• Provides daily monitoring and supervision of the City’s IT systems and facilities to ensure efficient and effective system operations and uptime.
• Performs project planning and service delivery, including incident requests and change management. Addresses any issues to minimize delays and avoid affecting project success. Manages outside vendors and service provider performance.
• Facilitates regular technology roadmap reviews, industry best practices, system enhancement and/or end-of-life planning (i.e., hardware).
• Design and execute short plus long-term strategic plans to assure infrastructure capacity attains current and future needs.
• Identifies trends / recurring issues for long-term remediation. Reviews and approves team change request for impacts and compliance with process and procedures. Ensures requests are handled in a timely fashion in accordance with City service level agreements.
• Supports and coordinate with Layer-1 Cabling teams to fulfill requirements for all construction efforts.
• Supports and coordinates work with the Information Security and other technology teams in support of the City’s Departments, Users and Line-of-Business applications.
• Selects, licenses, and maintains listed technologies and vendor relationships.
• In-depth knowledge of servers (physical and virtual) and networks, data organization, and both hardware and software.
• Develop, execute and oversee procedures, policies and related training plans for infrastructure project management and infrastructure administration.
• Manage and establish priorities for maintenance, design, development and analysis of entire infrastructure systems inclusive of LANs, WANs, internet, security and wireless implementations.
• Provide general oversight of IT-related expenditures and purchase requests
• Experience with cybersecurity safeguards and programs

• Performs related work as required
•Ability to work after hours to minimize impact to travelers while implementing new infrastructure upgrades or maintenance to existing systems

Preferred Qualification
• Aviation/airport technology experience a plus
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Seven (7) to Nine (9) years of experience in data center operations or network design and administration, depending on assignment, including prior supervisory experience
• Experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary Information Technology teams providing a diverse array of IT solutions (hardware, software, networks, cybersecurity, system administration, systems integration, and project management)

High School Graduate or Equivalent and Eleven (11) Years Experience

2 Year College Degree and Nine (9) Years Experience
OR
Bachelor's Level Degree and Seven (7) Years Experience
OR
Master's Level Degree and Five (5) Years Experience
