Summary

The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) seeks an enthusiastic Marketing Coordinator. The successful candidate will support the marketing team, be responsible for coordinating all printing deliverables with vendors, provide marketing procurement support, and manage project workflow. Establishes and maintains relationships with the community, CATS customers, CATS employees, partnering agencies, public interest groups, and stakeholders. Reports to the Marketing Manager

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with vendors to ensure accurate and on-time delivery of printed materials, marketing collateral and event materials
  • Manage workflow of creative request process
  • Conduct routine inventory of passes, schedules, marketing collateral and logo use throughout CATS facilities and division
  • Assist onsite during transportation fairs, kick-off events, photoshoots, video projects, etc.
  • Facilitate marketing procurement process and maintain records of recurring billable items
  • Coordinate removal/installation process of signage throughout CATS facilities, vehicles, and in the community
  • Work closely with MARCOM team on all projects, initiatives, and efforts
  • Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date library of marketing collateral, brand materials, and logo items currently and previously in use
  • Assist with other department projects and activities
  • Performs related duties as required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent oral and communication skill 
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines while working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Detail oriented and good organizational skills
  • Work effectively and efficiently to achieve goals in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, local businesses and associations, and the general public
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud experience 
  • Ability to promote transit services to increase public knowledge and usage
  • Ability to work outside of traditional 8a-5p hours
  • Ability to carry 20 lbs. or more
  • Ability to walk, sit, bend, twist, reach, and kneel for an extended period of time

Preferred Qualification

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited four-year college/university with major coursework in marketing, advertising, business administration, administrative assistance, or related field
  • One year of relevant work experience 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • One-year relevant work experience

Conditions of Employment

The City’s Background Check Policy requires background checks to be conducted on final internal or external candidate(s) applying for any position with the City of Charlotte. The type of information that will be collected as part of a background check includes, but is not limited to: reference checks, social security verification, education verification, criminal conviction record check, and, if applicable, a credit history check, sex offender registry and motor vehicle records check.

Background checks must be in compliance with all federal and state statutes, such as the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The checks must be consistent with the guidelines set forth by these laws requiring organizations to obtain a candidate’s written authorization before obtaining a criminal background report, motor vehicle records check or credit report; and to properly store and dispose of information derived from such reports.

Final candidates must pass a pre-employment drug-screening test and physical examination. During the selection process, candidates may be asked to take a skills test, and/or participate in other assessments.
