Summary

Performs management work directing, monitoring and inspecting janitorial, environmental and other contracted services at Charlotte Douglas International Airport terminal and approximately 80 other Airport buildings with the objective of maintaining a clean, safe and pleasant atmosphere for tenants, employees and the travelling public in a 24/7/365 facility.  Responsible for managing multiple contracts in areas of responsibility including quality standards, department policies and procedures and service levels. The exercise of initiative is expected and extensive public contact is involved.  Is responsive to and successfully maintains working relationships with tenants, contractors, co-workers and the public.

General Information:
Standard shift hours apply, subject to emergency and routine calls back to work.
Valid driver’s license with no more than 6 points and the ability to obtain and maintain a City driving permit.
Certain criminal convictions will disqualify individuals from unescorted access privileges and therefore exclude from employment.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

1. Manage, direct, monitor and inspect janitorial services for Airport terminal and other Airport buildings.  
2. Monitors ancillary contracts including those for solid waste removal, pressure washing, window cleaning, contractor clean-up, pest control and interior landscaping.
3. Respond to needs of customers and requests for service (tenants, the public and co-workers).
4. Coordinate the set-up of meeting rooms, the moving of furniture and special events.
5.   Coordinate repairs with Building Maintenance. 
6.   Assists with snow operations within the terminal as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of the methods, practices, supplies and equipment used in commercial and industrial recycling.
Knowledge of safety precautions and work hazards involved in work assignments.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and deal courteously with airport tenants, fellow staff and the traveling public.
Ability to comprehend and accurately administer contract specifications.
Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook.

Preferred Qualification

Experience with environmental regulatory compliance preferred.
Membership with the International Executive Housekeepers Association, and C.E.H., R.E.H. or ISSA CIMS GB Expert preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Graduation or Equivalent and seven years of relevant work experience

OR

Associate's Degree and five years of relevant work experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant work experience

Conditions of Employment
