Summary
The Center for Digital Government named Charlotte one of the top five digital cities in the nation. The City of Charlotte's Innovation & Technology department (I&T) provides executive-level leadership, delivers technology services to city departments and partnership agencies, and coordinates information technology initiatives across the organization to support, enhance and advance citizen service delivery.
The City of Charlotte Innovation and Technology Department is seeking an experienced Technology Professional in the Technology Services Division. This position performs within the Enterprise Services Team providing Tier II support to Service Desk and end users. Additionally, this position provides technology implementation and support of various initiatives internal to the Enterprise Services Team and across the City when required.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform daily support via incident management system, handle Service Desk escalations and project task assignments. Examples incidents are Windows 10, Print Servers, Microsoft Hyper-V, RDS, Kiosk Systems, Microsoft 365, Print Servers, Smart Conference Room technologies, Air Watch mobile device support.
• Develop and update documentation for incident resolutions, kb articles, procedures for installation, upgrades and use of technology supported.
• Working knowledge of Windows 10, group policy, security protocols and scripting.
• Assist Enterprise Services Team members, other I&T Teams and Project managers with task relating to team services provided.
• Work with necessary resources with ongoing issues and follow through for final resolution. These include city technology leads and vendor support resources
• Research, test and recommend technologies for enhancement to departmental and city-wide operational efficiency.
• Consistent verbal and written updates on projects, ongoing or reoccurring issues and new initiatives to team management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Knowledge of desktop virtualization technologies, preferably Microsoft Hyper-V / RDS.
• Working knowledge of Windows Command Shell Script, VBScript, or PowerShell a plus
• Fluent with Windows 10 deployments, settings, enhancements and features
• Experience researching new technologies, testing and implementation.
• Proven experience working independently and in a team environment
• Demonstrate experience with Windows 10 support in an enterprise environment
• Ability to multi-task efficiently in a high volume and critical support role
Preferred Qualification
• 3 years’ experience with support and deployment of Windows 10
• 2 years supporting Microsoft 365 applications
• Working knowledge of Network Protocols, VPN’s and troubleshooting
• Mobile device settings and usage
• Virtualization of desktops and applications for end users
• Print Server management
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years of experience working in mid-large Enterprise Environment support end user computing and associated technologies.
Salary
$63,846 - $75,379 Commensurate with Experience
