Unemployment Insurance Rating Analyst II (#MABZ26)
Summary StatementA class incumbent is responsible for overseeing and participating in the determination of employer liability and assessment rates in accordance with unemployment insurance tax requirements.
Nature and ScopeA class incumbent performs with general supervision from the Unemployment Insurance Tax Accounting Manager and provides guidance to 1-3 employees. In addition to determining employer liability and assessment rates, the incumbent oversees and coordinates all data entry activities for the Tax Accounting Section. Work includes coordinating Status Determination Unit activities with those of the Accounts Receivable Unit, the Field Audit Unit, the Training Tax Unit and other state agencies. Other classes reporting in at this level include Accountants and Account Technicians. The incumbent has contact with employers and their representatives regarding unemployment insurance tax laws, forms and reporting requirements and resolves questions relative to determining tax liability, possible refunds and payment of assessment due.
