The City of Parks and Recreation Department is looking for an energetic
SENIOR RECREATION WORKER - VAN DRIVER
for the Armory Center Senior Program.
This is a non-permanent position that will work on an intermittent or seasonal basis.
Individuals in this classification may not exceed 1,300 hours in a 12-month period.
Under general supervision of the Senior Service Supervisor, the Senior Recreation Worker - Van Driver manages the transportation component for the Senior Nutrition Program which provides daily lunches and dinners to older adults; organizes social activities for nutrition site participants; provides participants with social services information and referrals; assists in the kitchen; and performs related work as required.
Transports seniors of all abilities to the Recreation Centers for the Congregate Meal Program
Schedules transportation
Maintains records and reports as required by the City, County, and funding sources
Publicizes programs and services
Administers and adheres to all policies and procedures of the Parks and Recreation Department and the City of Tucson
Adheres to policies and procedures and reports accidents and hazardous conditions immediately to a supervisor
Minimum Education Level & Type: Less than High School
Minimum Experience Qualifications: Six months of full-time employment and/or volunteer experience involving customer contact
At least 18 years of age at time of application
Must possess a valid and unrestricted Driver License with two years of driving experience, and a clean driving record
Must be able to pass a background screening and obtain a Level 2 Fingerprinting Clearance Card upon hire
Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be evaluated on their education and work experience in their employment profile and the responses to their supplemental questions. The highest scoring applicants will be invited to participate in an Oral Board Interview.
The highest scoring applicants will be placed in the "Best Qualified" and "Qualified" bank (grouping) and provided to the hiring department for a selection decision. An applicant's placement on the list will be based on their final score which will be calculated as:
