The City of Tucson Parks and Recreation Department is seeking dedicated, dependable, team-oriented
GROUNDSKEEPERS
to maintain and repair City of Tucson park amenities and grounds
Maintains grounds and facilities
Safely uses hand tools and equipment such as mowers, blowers, power-washers, trimmers, loppers, weed-eaters, rakes, shovels, sod cutters, and saws
Inspects, power washes and disinfects park restrooms and ramadas
De-litters parks and lakes, empties trash cans and maintains dog parks including dog waste removal
Inspects, paints, cleans, and repairs playgrounds
Prepares ball fields for daily use as well as tournaments
Removes graffiti
Conducts irrigation head replacement, minor irrigation repairs, and adjusts controller programs for turf conditions and over seeding
Installs and repairs fences, signs, tables, and other fixtures and structures within public facilities
Conducts preventative maintenance on equipment for proper operation and safety.
Safely operates tractors, mowers, trucks, carts, and transports equipment by pulling trailers
Works and communicates with user groups and volunteer organizations
Assists with set ups and breakdown of equipment for special events and rentals
Works with and helps new employees become familiar with procedures related to safe and efficient work processes
Maintains logs, enters data into computer system, prepares reports, maintains supplies and provides information to supervisors, staff, and the public
