Are you a hardworking individual who likes to work outdoors? Do you like keeping busy at work? We have the perfect job for you!!! The City of Tucson's Environmental & General Services Department (EGSD) is seeking experienced Equipment Operators to join our Collections Team.
One of the great incentives of joining our team is the NEW Solid Waste Assignment Pay Tier Program. Operators may qualify for up to an additional $5.00 an hour of assignment pay. To receive this assignment pay you must maintain a valid Class A CDL and operate more than one piece of equipment. For additional information, contact the EGSD HR team.

Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be evaluated on the education and work experience in their employment profile and the responses to their supplemental questions. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be invited to participate in a Practical Skills Test and Panel Board Interview.
Practical Skills Test and Panel Board Interview will take place: Tuesday, March 28, 2023

The Practical Skills Test will consist of a CDL air-brake test and
pre-trip inspection, a road skills test, and an obstacle skills test. Visit the

***The Practical Skills Test will be outdoors; you must wear
loose-fitting work clothes suitable for a working environment; open toed
footwear and shorts will not be allowed and excess jewelry is not recommended.
The required PPE needed will be provided.***
Upon completion of all examination processes, the highest scoring applicants will be placed on the Civil Service Employment List. An applicant's ranking on the Civil Service list will be based on their final score which will be calculated as:
This recruitment will establish a civil service list that will be utilized to fill vacancies occurring within the next 6 months.
Veterans, Native American, or Disability preference points will be added to the final score for those that are placed on the Civil Service Employment List. This position will require a satisfactory Motor Vehicle History Report, pre-employment testing, and also requires safety sensitive compliance e.g. random drug screening.
