General Description

Quality Assurance and Training Analysts for the City of Tucson analyze, design, develop, and implement quality assurance and training programs, processes, and procedures that improve customer satisfaction and service levels and improve the quality of life for citizens and employees.

Distinguishing Characteristics

This position may require providing advice to others outside direct reporting relationships on specific problems or general policies.  Contacts may require consideration of different points of view to reach an agreement. 

Essential Functions

Proactively plan and conduct project and product tests. Analyze test and training data to provide stakeholders or end-users quality training solutions for driving business performance and investigating and communicating areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity in collaboration with other ITD resources.

Create and maintain high quality, independent, online, video and classroom training material through product analysis and user requirements interpretation by integrating various content delivery  components from multiple sources

Utilize industry-standard test and  analysis frameworks to perform quality assurance analysis, testing, planning, and direct workflows

Create and maintain project management and issue tracking system data as needed. Assist with bringing challenges to the forefront and monitor quality trends.

Work closely with internal and external customers to understand and maintain focus on their quality assurance and training needs, including identifying critical metrics and KPIs and delivering actionable insights to relevant decision-makers

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION LEVEL & TYPE: Four-year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Computer Science, Management Information Systems.

EXPERIENCE: This Position requires at least one (1) year experience in/as Quality Assurance and Training Analyst

Selection Plan

Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be evaluated on the education and work experience in their employment profile and the responses to their supplemental questions. The highest scoring applicants will then be invited to participate in an Oral Board Interview.  

  • Virtual Oral Board Interviews will be held: October 12, 2021
Upon completion of all examination processes, the highest scoring applicants will be placed on the Civil Service Employment List.  An applicant's ranking on the Civil Service list will be based on their final score which will be calculated as:   
  • 20% of your rating for education and work experience
  • 80% of your oral board interview  
This recruitment will establish a civil service list that will be utilized to fill vacancies occurring within the next 6 months.

Veterans, Native American, or Disability preference points will be added to the final score for those that are placed on the Civil Service Employment List.  If you qualify for preference points as outlined in the Employment Profile, you must present your documentation prior to your oral board interview.  The DD 214 must be a copy that indicates characterization of service.
