The City of Tucson Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a bright, charismatic
CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE
to provide exceptional customer service to the Patrons of the Parks and Recreation Department.
The essential functions include but are not limited to:
Provides customer service by answering telephones, greeting customers, providing information, processes applications for service, responding to requests, handling problems and irate customers, researching inquiries and discrepancies, following up on complaints and concerns and coordinating and communicating with department staff
Performs clerical duties by preparing and maintaining files, records and logs, picking up and distributing mail, maintaining and ordering supplies, entering and correcting information in the computer system, completing, maintaining schedules and calendars, preparing correspondence, and various reports and forms, processing various customer billings, copying, faxing, accepting deliveries, and notifying appropriate staff
Manages accounts by accepting payments, preparing deposits, balancing accounts and preparing invoices for payment
Performs related duties such as: processing reservations, inputting, processing, and issuing permits
Minimum Education Level & Type: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Minimum Experience Qualifications: At least 1 year experience in customer service and operation of a computer and office equipment, and handling money and other forms of payment
Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be evaluated on the education and work experience in their employment profile and the responses to their supplemental questions. The highest scoring applicants will then be invited to participate in an Oral Board interview.
Upon completion of all examination processes, the highest scoring applicants will be placed on a Civil Service Eligibility List. An applicant's ranking on the Civil Service Employment List will be based on their final score which will be calculated as:
Selection Interviews may be conducted post certification of the Civil Service Employment List by the Hiring Manager.
This recruitment will establish a Civil Service Employment List that will be utilized to fill vacancies occurring with the next 6 months.
Veterans, Native American, or Disability preference points will be added to the final score for those that are placed on the Civil Service Employment List. If you qualify for preference points as outlined in the Employment Profile, you must present your documentation at the Oral Board interviews. The DD 214 must be a copy that indicates characterization of service.
